Introduction
Welcome to the Miscellaneous High-Speed
Propulsion projects section. Projects in this section have to do mainly with
propulsion devices and accelerators, which are able to accelerate projectiles to
high speeds with high kinetic energies. Coil guns, gauss guns or rail guns etc
projects are found in the Electro-Magnetic propulsion section. Projects include
high speed pneumatic air cannons to crossbows and model medieval siege weapons.

Air Cannon TFI
Construction
of a simple but powerful pneumatic linear accelerator with a 1 inch barrel
diameter capable of high kinetic energy outputs and projectile velocities.
Construction details, physics and theory of its operation as well as testing and
results with pictures and video clips. Air cannon TFI (The First Inch) is made
totally out of pressure rated PVC pipes and fittings and a metal valve. Hand
operated.

Air Cannons Page
This
page details some of the other compressed-air powered devices I have built
Includes photos, videos, construction details
as well as performance details. |
Lego Bow (3)
My
third cross bow utilizing Lego parts for the body and a wooden bow. Completely
designed and constructed by me. Fires sharpened chopsticks or pencils and is
capable of relatively dangerous speeds. [under construction]

Medieval Siege Engine models
Trebuchets and Onagers. Stay tuned
for more. [under construction] |
